Arrest Made in Payne Death

Glynn County GA-- Glynn County Police Department’s Investigations Division has completed an inquiry into the death of Travis Payne. After multiple witness interviews, review of all available evidence and in consultation with the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney, GCPD has charged and arrested Edward Aaron Hunter III (W/M, 17 years of age). Mr. Hunter was arrested on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 9:46 AM at his residence in Waynesville, GA. He has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Affray. Mr. Hunter has been booked at the Glynn County Detention Center. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. GCPD would like to thank Brantley County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance this morning.

Involuntary manslaughter is defined by OCGA 16-5-3 as “A person commits the offense of involuntary manslaughter in the commission of an unlawful act (OCGA 16-11-32 Affray) when he causes the death of another human being without any intention to do so by the commission of an unlawful act other than a felony.”
