Brunswick Rocked By Two Shooting Incidents Wednesday Night

A tip on an overnight shooting in Brunswick Wednesday revealed two separate incidents.

According to Captain Angela Smith of the Brunswick Police Department, the first incident occurred around 11:30pm Wednesday night, when officers were called to H and Wolfe Streets to address a reported shooting. When they arrived they found evidence that there had been gunshots in the area but there was no shooting victim. Officers did find that a school bus parked at a nearby residence had been hit by gunfire. The officers determined that no one had been hit in the shooting.

A half hour later, police were called again, this time to Palmetto Avenue. When they arrived they found a victim lying in the road in the 1400 block of Palmetto. The shooting victim, a 20-year-old male, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital with injuries that Captain Smith termed "life-threatening". No one has been charged and anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Carla Futch at 912-279-2641 or Sient Witness at 912-267-5516.
