NEWS: Postponement of Police Chief Battiste Swearing-In

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga – Upon receiving further guidance and clarification regarding the timing and processing of incoming Police Chief Jacques Battiste’s P.O.S.T. Certification in Georgia, the decision has been made to postponethis evening’s swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed Police Chief Jacques Battiste to a date to be determined later. Chief Battiste is in the process of securing his Georgia certification and is expected to complete that process within the next six months. County leadership had the understanding that Chief Battiste could be officially sworn in as Chief to perform his day-to-day administrative duties, pending receipt of his Georgia certification. Additional guidance and clarification on this point has since been received. We apologize for any inconvenience for those planning to attendthis evening’s event but invite you to attend the swearing-in ceremony and join us in welcoming Chief Battiste when this ceremony is rescheduled.
